Name 10 ways in which your life could be better….

OK. List 10 ways in which your life could be better. I don’t mean, “I’d be a millionaire” or “I’d be married to Will Smith!” I mean, yourdaily life now. What is it about your daily life, your routines, the way you spend your time, your diet and so on, that you’re not happy about? And what is stopping you from changing those things? Here’s mine.

1. There’s a big job that I need to do that’s hanging over me. So every time I have a bit of free time (like now), I think, “I should be doing that job, not writing my blog!” and then I feel guilty when I am writing my blog.

2. I am about a stone heavier than I’d like to be.

3. My bedroom is always a mess because I have too many clothes so putting things away involves wrestling with the wardrobe.

4. My time feels pulled in many directions.

5. I am single. I would like a boyfriend.

6. Along with that big job that I’m putting off, there are about 20 small jobs. I wish I could just get them done and then I’d have time to get on with the things I really want to be doing.

7. Get on top of my migraines: they seem to be ruining quite a lot of days at the moment!

8. Sort out my old books and CDs and do a general declutter.

9. I’d like to get more organised about writing down my good ideas and keeping them.

10. I’d like to have more time to put my ideas into practice.

Of course, there’s no point even writing that list unless I’m going to do something about those things. So what am I going to do?

1. There’s a big job that I need to do that’s hanging over me. I’m going to finish this job. My deadline (self-imposed) is a week tomorrow.

2. I am about a stone heavier than I’d like to be. When I’ve finished the big job, I’m going to use some of my free time to exercise regularly. More active lunchtimes at work (even if it’s just a walk). A healthier diet. I’m taking salads to work for lunch now instead of succumbing to the chips in the canteen!

3. My bedroom is always a mess because I have too many clothes so putting things away involves wrestling with the wardrobe. Big, big clearout. Why am I keeping so many clothes that I don’t feel good in? Time to sort things out!

4. My time feels pulled in many directions. I think I need to get in a routine. I need to re-evaluate what my priorities are and then divide up my time accordingly. I also need to use my evenings more productively. At the moment, I get home tired from work and slump on the sofa!

5. I am single. I would like a boyfriend. New strategy for this one too: check out my other blog – Soul2Soul

6. Along with that big job that I’m putting off, there are about 20 small jobs. I wish I could just get them done and then I’d have time to get on with the things I really want to be doing. GET THEM DONE!

7. Get on top of my migraines: they seem to be ruining quite a lot of days at the moment! This one’s harder. But I think getting into more of a routine so I go to bed and get up at the same times every day, remembering to take my vitamin supplements, a healthier diet and regular exercise ill all help!

8. Sort out my old books and CDs and do a general declutter. I just need to get on with this.

9. I’d like to get more organised about writing down my good ideas and keeping them. Get a new notebook and update it regularly!

10. I’d like to have more time to put my ideas into practice. I’m hoping that once I’ve got that big job and some of the little ones out of the way, I can decide which of my ideas I want to concentrate on next! Watch this space!
